When my friend & co-worker Mark Svartz and I were on Google Maps and scratching our chins about what to be for Halloween, it suddenly dawned on us—we would be the little Street View guy you use to see into the windows of strangers all throughout the world.
But we didn’t want to end it there. We needed it to be fully-functional, so we decided to add a nerdy element to an already hypergeeky idea. To be just like the Street View guy, people would need to be able to track us on a map and actually see our honest-to-goodness “Street View” (which would physicalize itself as a live UStream from iPhones in our pockets). We pulled Mags Chau onto the project to make this nerd’s wet dream come true. Thus, Google Street Boo was born.
